Community is one of the most important aspects of the VP experience. If you read what students say about their VP experiences, you will find that every year, students form lifelong bonds with a group of diverse peers. By attending VP, you join a community of fellow writers that’s been supporting each other, sharing insights, and having fun for the past twenty years.
These days, the VP community interacts in a variety of ways: on social media, on the Viable Paradise Slack Group, and in-person at events.
Even if you’re not yet a student but are only thinking about applying, find a VP alum or stop by a local VP meetup at your local SF/F con and they’ll be happy to talk to you about writing and the workshop.
